Project Description
The Community Park at MacDill Air Force Base is a formal ceremonial environment shaped to support the honors and traditions of the United States Air Force. Organized around a central amphitheater-style layout, the design creates a sense of procession and reflection through structured landscape features and commemorative elements. The project successfully balances the solemnity of military recognition with the flexibility required for community gathering and daily recreation. This synthesis of symbolic meaning and high-quality design earned an Honor Award in the Air Force Design Awards from the Department of Defense, recognizing the project’s excellence in creating a dignified, functional landscape for those who serve.
