Project Description
The Hangar 5 Renovation involved the adaptive reuse of an original 1940s flightline complex, reimagined to support current mission requirements while preserving its historic monumental scale. The design focuses on modernizing the historic aircraft hangar through structural modifications, building system upgrades, and interior reconfigurations tailored to advanced aircraft maintenance. By enhancing the hangar doors and floor systems, the project extends the service life of a significant legacy structure while meeting contemporary safety and mission-specific standards. The result is a high-performance maintenance environment that respects the base’s architectural heritage through a thoughtful alignment of preservation and modern utility.
