Project Description
The Hangar 3 Renovation transformed a historic hangar within the installation’s original flightline district into a modernized operational facility. Managed by Shaun Luttrell (while at Rodriguez + Architecture), the project adapted the existing shell to meet current maintenance functions through comprehensive building system upgrades and repairs to the exterior envelope. The design reinterprets the significant scale and character of the historic hangar district, ensuring the facility supports contemporary mission requirements while maintaining its architectural identity. The completed renovation provides a cohesive, functional environment that bridges the gap between the base’s legacy infrastructure and its future operational needs.
